What is Low Income Home Telephone Service?

Low Income Home Phone is a government assisted home phone program called Lifeline that reduces the monthly phone bill for qualified consumers.

Who Qualifies for Program?

Qualifications vary by state. On February 2, 2012, the FCC released it's Lifeline Reform Order which changed the qualifications in many states. They established a floor of eligibility requirements based on federal guidelines. States can opt to add more permissive eligibility criteria to the Federal criteria. If you're receiving some form of government assistance, chances are that you qualify.
